Perkins Dental - Vaughn E. Perkins III, D.M.D.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we are welcoming new patients.

2. Do you accept any insurances?
We accept most PPO dental insurances. We are proud to participate with a select number of insurance companies. Please call our office for a full list of accepted and participating insurances. Our staff will assist you in maximizing your specific insurance benefit.

3. What payments do you accept?
We accept cash and all major credit cards. We also offer Chase Financing for those patients interested in a payment plan option.

4. What do I do if I cannot make my appointment?
Unlike most dental offices, we schedule only one patient at a time. As a courtesy to our other patients and our staff, appointments must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance. Our staff will assist you in rescheduling your appointment at that time.

5. Do you treat children?
Yes, Dr. Perkins loves treating children that are comfortable in the dental chair. Typically, this is from approximately age 5 and older. Dr. Perkins takes his time and explains the procedure to the child and the parent. He believes that the ultimate goal is a positive dental experience for the child. If he cannot predictably achieve this, a referral to a Pedodontist, will ensure a positive experience. Dr. Perkins will gladly wait a few years and accept the patient back to the practice when the child is more comfortable with dental treatment.

6. What can I expect at the first visit?
We designate a full hour for a new patient. During this time, the Doctor conducts a personal interview, a comprehensive oral exam, takes the necessary radiographs, and creates diagnostic models of the patient's mouth, if necessary. The Doctor and staff provide the patient with an overview of the treatment plan and fees.

To help you plan your budget, allow a cost of $150 - $300 for your consultation/exam/radiographs. Since Dr. Perkins believes in spending quality time evaluating your case, we regret that we are unable to provide free consultations, free second opinions, or estimates over the phone. Thank you for your understanding.
